Oatmeal Scrub

NO
Tallow

One of my favourite soaps to make and use.
Uses homemade Oatmilk for the liquid,
Oatmeal blended to a fine powder for the scrub part,
Tallow Free for those avoiding animal products,
a smidge of natural Honey and
a topping of Bees and Honeycomb design.

Awesome soap to use in the shower everyday.

I always set out ALL the ingredients beforehand
so nothing gets missed.
That said – do you see any Honey there anywhere?
– I remembered in time – for once.

All the oils blended together waiting for the butters to melt.

The rest of the prepared ingredients –
sodium lactate (makes a harder soap)
blended oatmeal (the scrub)
Spiced Oatment Fragrance

Melting hard butters/waxes

Oatmilk and Lye mixed = something similar to porridge.
Still works AOK in the final soap.

Final mix starting to slowly coming to ‘trace’ (set).
A little thicker and we pour the mold.

Love this bees and honeycomb mold

Poured at light trace, leveled off as best I can.
From here it goes in the oven for gel phase.
Oven is set as low as it can go, once the mold is in it gets
turned off but the light left on.

Out of the oven to cool before cutting.
Not quite set enough yet to de-mold it without causing damage.

De-molded, looking good.
Smells amazing with the Spiced Oatmeal Fragrance oil.

Flipped over ready to remove the bees and honeycomb mold.

Hey presto – bees.

Cutting

Now 6 weeks curing time and a little trimming around the edges.
